Bhutan – schedule, weather and packing.

We have 8 days starting in Thimpu, moving to Punakha, then Gantey and finally Paro.

We will be enjoying the following things:/places

  • Tamchog Lhakang
  • Punakha fortress
  • Takin Reserve
  • Crafts Bazaar and markets
  • Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lakhang Numnery
  • Gangtey Gompa monastery
  • Tiger’s Nest Monastery

There are many short and optionally longer hikes built in to the programme.

Tigers Nest Monastery

Today, temperatures in Thimpu seem to be 5 to 11C, in Punakha -3 to 4, and in Paro 4 to 11. Although strangely a different app, puts the temperatures a bit higher. It’s actually the best time to visit Bhutan due to weather not being too cold but skies being clear.

I’ve gotta be honest I did expect it to be a bit warmer…

Not too bad…
Bit cold…we’ll be there on Tuesday/Wednesday (I think)

At the moment my packing looks like this:

I have got all my warm socks out, as well as hats, gloves and jackets. I’ll have to see what I can fit in!
